Paragliding
Paragliding is a relatively new adventure sport in Nepal. In the Himalayan country it can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling
experience for the adventure seekers as a unique and uplifting experience flying with eagles in the foothills of the Annapurna
range.
Paragliding is the simplest form of aviation known to man and the simplest way to fulfill mankind's
oldest dream: free flight!! The glider is easy to transport, launch and land: a non motorized, foot – launched inflatable
wing.
You launch on a gentle slope facing into the wind. As the glider comes above you, it starts
lifting: a few steps and you're air born. Most people are surprised by how quiet and peaceful this experience is. Even the
fear of heights is seldom an issue, as there is no sensation of falling.
So…if the idea of sitting comfortably in the clouds appeals to you….paragliding
is your thing.
The take off points for these flights is Sarangkot (1600m), which offers prime views of Phewa
Tal and the mountains at sunrise and sunset.
Tandem Flights
Tandem means a trained
pilot flying with a passenger with no previous training. Two separate harnesses are attached to each other and to the wing.
The paragliding harness is designed for comfort and safety. You can sit back, take pictures and enjoy the freedom of flying
like a bird!!!
Paragliding and if you wish you will even learn to steer the glider.
Fewa Lake And Mountain View
We take
off and use the thermals (hot air current) to go up. From there, an incomparably stunning panorama view of the Himalayas and
below us thick tropical jungles, thundering rivers, terraced hills and frozen valleys. We land by Fewa Lake.
Cross Country
Flight Duration: 30
– 45 Minutes
This time taking advantage of favorable weather conditions and taking the clouds or a bird as a guide,
we use the thermals to move from one mountain to the next, soaring and circling up to the clouds and down again. Our background
will be the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu…. among others.
TRAINING COURSE:
Duration:
2 weeks
You learn how to launch and ground handles the paraglide. Tandem Flight introduces you to the air where you are
steering under the direct guidance of an instructor. Small flights build up your confidence then you start your high solo

skies.
